Hello Everyone,
Finally, here it is - my newsletter, packed with information about essential oils, workshops and anything new that might interest you.

As the cold of autumn and winter descends on us, so do the bugs that cause our noses to run and our eyes to water. Having just come out of one of these episodes myself, I thought it might be an idea to introduce you to my favourite 'cold busting' essential oil Ravensara.
Ravensara Aromatica is an oil extracted through steam destillation from the Ravensare tree in Madagascar where it is refered to as the oil that heals. It has very good antiseptc properties similar to those of Tea Tree essential oil, yet it is much gentler. Its smell is similar to Eucalyptus, but not as punget. Its gentleness makes it suitable for use with childeren. I tend to use it at the first sign of a cold, and it usually helps to nip it in the bud. It is also a good pick me up when you feel exhausted and tired.
You can use up to eight drops in a bath (for small children no more than three, I would recommend to mix the three drops in a tablespoon of milk before adding to the bath water). For the best effect run your bath first before adding and mixing in the essential oil.
For a steam inhalation add one drop to boiling water.
To make a chest rub add 4 drops to 10ml of carrier (for small children no more than 2 drops) and mix well. You can mix it with lotion, cream or vegetable oil such as sunflower or sweet almond. For babies please use 2 drops in 50ml of carrier.
Tip:For a good night's sleep once you have a cold, place a bowl of boiling water with 4 - 6 drops of Ravensara added in you bedroom before going to sleep. It will help to keep your nose clear and ease your breathing. In a small room or for use with children and babies 1-2 drops will be sufficient

At last it is official!!!What cat lovers always knew - cat purr is good for you.
As you probably all know I love anything feline, and I am absolutely besotted with our feline friend Boris who decided years ago to share his life with us. Yes he wanted to live with us and used all his charm to convince us to choose him rather than any of the other cats in the rescue place.
After hearing first of the benefits of cat purr from Anne and Jack Stewart, www.healingthespirit.eu, it has now been confirmed more officially. The BBC's ONE SHOW had a feature on it on Tuesday 28th October. The frequency of cat purr is one that is associated with tissue growth and bone healing, never mind the deep relaxation it gives you.
I have been cheeky and used a CD called 'Relax with cats' to enhance the effects of my massage. So far the comments have been very positive.
